A Vietnam cashew exporters list is only a starting point: there is no official public ranking, and the lists online are compiled by trade-data vendors, directories or the companies themselves, using different methods. Build your own shortlist from the industry association, trade data and certification directories, then verify each name — processor or trader, certificates checked at the source, factory address, capacity and lot documents.
Why is there no single reliable list?

Online “top exporters” lists often disagree because they measure different things: export value, number of shipments, or simply which companies paid to be listed. Some are written by exporters that place themselves near the top.
Trade-data lists have a different problem: they group companies by product code, so a list of Vietnamese “cashew nut exporters” can include shell-oil producers and other non-kernel businesses alongside kernel processors. Treat any list as names to check, not as a ranking.
How large is the field?
Vietnam supplies more than 80% of the world’s exported cashew kernels, according to the Vietnam Cashew Association. In 2025 the country exported 766,600 tonnes worth a record US$5.23 billion and imported around 3 million tonnes of raw nuts, according to customs data reported by VietNamNet.
Behind those figures are many companies of very different kinds: large processors with their own factories, smaller processors, trading companies that buy from several factories, and brokers. Each can be a legitimate supplier, but they offer different levels of control over what you receive.
Where can you find exporters?
| Source | Useful for | Limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) | Names of established processors and exporters | Membership is not a quality check |
| Trade data services | Who actually ships kernels, to which markets and how often | Mixes kernel processors with other businesses; check product descriptions |
| BRCGS Directory | Confirming food safety certification of a named site | Needs a free sign-in; shows certification, not commercial terms |
| Trade fairs and referrals | Meeting suppliers and hearing from other buyers | Claims still need checking |
Should you buy from a processor or a trader?
| Processor (own factory) | Trader | |
|---|---|---|
| Control over the lot | Grades, packs and documents its own production | Buys from one or more factories |
| Traceability | Direct to the factory’s lot records | Depends on what the factory shares |
| Range | Limited to what the factory produces | Can combine products from several factories |
| Questions about a lot | Answered by the producer | Passed back to the factory |
Both can be good suppliers. What matters is knowing which one you are dealing with, so you know who stands behind the certificate, the sample and the lot.
How do you verify each name?

For a fuller audit checklist, see how global buyers audit a cashew factory before their first order.
What should you ask before shortlisting?
- Do you process kernels in your own factory? What is its address?
- Which certifications do you hold, and when do they expire?
- What is your monthly kernel output, and which grades do you produce?
- Which AFI tolerances do you work to for broken and lower-size kernels?
- Do you issue a certificate of analysis for every lot, including aflatoxin?
- Which countries do you ship to now?
- Can you send a sample from a current production lot?
- Do you publish dated prices, and for which shipment period?
Which warning signs should you watch for?
- The site address on the certificate differs from the factory you are told will produce your order.
- A certificate cannot be found in the issuing body’s directory, or the name does not match.
- Prices quoted per carton without a net weight, or without an Incoterm and port.
- No certificate of analysis per lot, or reluctance to send a sample from a production lot.
- A price far below the market with no explanation — see why some cashew offers sit below market price.
