From July to early September the white wholes held flat while the lower grades each rose by US$0.10/kg. The wholes then followed. Since July, WW320 has risen US$0.15 to US$7.15 and WW240 US$0.15 to US$8.05. WW180, back in the bulletin after six weeks, is US$9.85 — US$0.25 above its last quote on 4 September, the largest move of any grade.

Between the two October bulletins, WW320 held while WW240 rose US$0.05, so the WW240 premium widened back from US$0.85 to US$0.90/kg. Among the A grades, A180 and A320 each rose US$0.05; A240 held. For what lies behind these moves — raw nut costs, export volumes and shipping — read our October market update.

How do you read the grades on the list?

WW means white wholes: whole kernels with the skin removed. The number is the kernel count per pound, so a smaller number is a bigger kernel and a higher price. Under the AFI specification, a 180 grade has 140–180 kernels per pound, a 240 grade 220–240 and a 320 grade 300–320.

A grades are whole kernels roasted and salted with the skin on, sized the same way. Other bulletins may quote DW (dessert wholes, darker or more blemished), LP (large pieces) or SK; ask us for the full specification of any grade.

Prices are per kilogram. To compare with a per-pound offer, divide by 2.2046: WW320 at US$7.15/kg is about US$3.24 per pound, WW240 about US$3.65 and WW180 about US$4.47.

What does the FOB price include?

An FOB Ho Chi Minh price covers the kernels, export packing, export customs clearance and loading onto the vessel at Ho Chi Minh port. Everything after that is the buyer’s:

  • Ocean freight from Ho Chi Minh to your port.
  • Cargo insurance for the voyage.
  • Import duty and taxes in your country.
  • Import clearance, port charges and inland delivery.

Write the term into your contract in full, for example “FOB Ho Chi Minh, Incoterms® 2020”: on its own, the abbreviation FOB can mean different things in different parts of the supply chain. If you prefer SVC to arrange shipping, ask for a CFR or CIF quote — see FOB vs CIF explained.

What does a container cost at today’s price?

A 20ft container holds 700 cartons of 22.68 kg, or 15,876 kg. At the 19 October bulletin, the FOB value of a full container is:

FOB value of one 20ft container (15,876 kg), SVC bulletin of 19 October 2026
GradeUS$/kgFOB value per 20ft
WW1809.85US$156,379
WW2408.05US$127,802
WW3207.15US$113,513
A1809.05US$143,678
A2407.95US$126,214
A3207.40US$117,482

These are product values only; freight, insurance, duty and clearance come on top. How the 700-carton figure is built, and why a 40ft does not double it, is covered in our guide to cashew 20ft container capacity.

Why can a quotation differ from the bulletin?

The bulletin is an indicative market price for standard bulk packing and the stated shipment period. A formal quotation can differ when any of these change:

  • Shipment month — a later or earlier shipment can carry a different price.
  • Packing — tins, retail packs and private label printing cost more than bulk cartons.
  • Specification — a tighter colour class, size tolerance or extra testing.
  • Volume and payment terms — agreed in the contract.

Compare any offer with ours only on the same grade, packing, terms and shipment month.

How do roasted A grades compare with raw kernels?

Raw white wholes vs roasted and salted A grades, SVC bulletin of 19 October 2026 (FOB Ho Chi Minh, US$ per kg)
SizeRaw (WW)Roasted & salted, skin on (A)Difference
1809.859.05−0.80
2408.057.95−0.10
3207.157.40+0.25

The A grades are a different product, not a processing surcharge on the raw grade: the kernel keeps its skin, is roasted and salted, and goes to a different buyer — usually a snack brand or distributor selling a ready-to-eat product. Compare A-grade offers with other A-grade offers, on the same size, salt level and packing.

What should you send for a firm quote?

  • Grade and colour class, and any tolerance tighter than AFI.
  • Volume — number of containers or tonnes — and whether it is one shipment or a programme.
  • Packing: bulk 22.68 kg cartons, tins or retail packs, and your own artwork if any.
  • Shipment month and destination port; FOB, CFR or CIF.
  • Documents and testing your market requires, such as the aflatoxin limit.

With these, the export team can confirm price, shipment date and terms in one reply.

How often are prices updated?

SVC publishes a new bulletin whenever the market moves, usually every week, and each bulletin states its shipment period. To receive every bulletin as soon as it is out, join our WhatsApp price group; the official bulletin page is the SVC cashew price update.

We publish our prices so that a buyer can check the market before the first email, not after it. The number on this page is where the conversation starts: grade, volume and shipment month decide the final price.
